You are right. Technically, according to option valuation theory, its never optimal to exercise a call on a non-dividend paying stock before expiry. Based on that, I don't think it will be called away before expiry Dale but, the way VISX is going, its getting more unlikely that the call price will decline to a point where I could buy back the option at a profit to avoid losing the shares.
