Typically, the material in the GTR appears a few months later in Forbes ASAP (accessible online at www.forbes.com). Also, his GTR back issues are available 6 months after original publication at www.gildertech.com All excellent, thought provoking reading. ATML was added to his list of Telecosm Technology companies in April of 1998, where he devotes several pages of text to answering your question.
Unless you know (or become) a subscriber to this ~$275/year newsletter who'll share it with you, you'll need to wait until October to read his extended remarks on ATML. To really appreciate Mr. Gilder's views, it is worthwhile to read his prior writings over the past years, many of which were published originally in Forbes ASAP and are available at the forbes.com site or the gildertech.com site. Over the past years, he has presented an entire theory of the Telecosm, which is tough to summarize.
