Maurice, I guess it is hard to find a range where you can be certain that there is no absorption. Of course, the low energy, long wavelength radiation is less damaging, but its is all a matter of photon counts: 10 minutes sunbathing is supposed to be healthy
whereas you know what 5 hours does to a white skin.

So the bottom line is: If you need less intensity, it is definitely less harmful, so the superconductor filters have this advantage as well.

As far as I remember, Conductus is actually using a refrigerator to cool their filters. Having to use Helium would be a catastrophe.
