In India, a temple town , has a mini temple built in honor of a muslim princess within the temple complex. Even today, offerings are made in her honor. The story is long, but an example of tolerance and absence of xenophobia.

And if the above is still going on, it is clearly in spite of the RSS, VHP and company, and certainly not because of them.

The point is simply this -- the people who are at the helm right now are xenophobic. Period.

That is what I call politics. Politics is practised in its rawest form at times. Watergate and the likes of it are practiced in different countries according to their cultural anchor and practices.

The reference was not to politics, but to the numerous religious riots that broke all over the sub-continent even before the British left the land.
