At Sony, Aoki served most recently in a dual role as general manager, optical disk strategy division and general manager, strategic business planning. His responsibilities included leading the optical disk business strategy in consumer and computer applications, overall program management of Sony's HiFD (200MB floppy disk) device, high-end tape streamer and optical disk business, and directing strategic alliances with major computer manufacturers. First I would like to thank Shig2 for breaking this news on the AOL board last week This guy was Sony's heavy weight and knows how far along Sony's HiFD is. We should know as well by IOM's actions in the next few weeks. If IOM comes out with the Rumored 250 meg drive Than my guess is that Sony product will be released soon. I'm with Michael if Jim Sierk wants the job he's got my vote. Snagging Sony's main man from under their nose is the kind of stuff that wins wars. This is great, a major competitor declares war so you steal their top general. I love it ; ) Regards Reseller
