Boy Bill, guess she must have hit pretty damn close to the mark re who you are and your motives. You know absolutely squat about this woman, as evidenced by the post to which I am responding. Either that or this is one of your more vindictive posts of late. Cheap shots and lies now is it? Cheryl says she's going to be tied up and away from SI for a while so now you feel all brave and manly, eh? Boy am I impressed! Let me guess, the other goonies are soon to follow you, aka Don and Billy.

I am starting to realize that SI is a waste of my time and effort, primarily because of the unethical conduct that takes place here. In other words, those who intentionally try to trash a stock for their own personal gain. It's called no-balls shorting. In the days prior to bulletin boards, AOL, etc., one could take some risk and short a stock, and let the chips fall where they may. Nowadays, those with little or no ethics pick a target, announce to their fellow goonies that a "party" is about to break out on so-and-so stock thread, they short the stock (or claim to short -- SI let's you claim whatever you want, since most people won't bother trying or have no means to verify such), and then jump in with their yapping parrots close behind, trying every possible way to separate the weak hands from their investment.

For the rest of you who have witnessed this unethical behavior -- and there's no other explanation for it -- I'm sure you realize how clearly such unethical behavior demonstrates the total lack of confidence these manipulators have in their investment strategy and decisions. Why else would they feel so compelled to try to manufacture a result?

It's a classic case of subterfuge. They come on Tava and other threads and accuse honest folks of doing EXACTLY what it is that they themselves are attempting to do, i.e., hyping, bullshitting, usw., in an attempt to victimize you. They come across as being so incensed and outraged by the hype and pump and dump, ad nauseam, when in fact they are engaging in that very behavior, all while hiding behind the anonymity granted them by SI and their keyboards. Then they turn around and accuse me, Cheryl, Bald Man et al. of being the REAL hypsters and claim that they are only here to protect everyone else, or to demonstrate their self-proclaimed clairvoyance.

Their objective is one thing and one thing only: to fool you into shortening your investment horizon to equal theirs. They aren't here to help you nor to educate you nor to inform you, they are here solely to raise questions in your mind so that you will sell, because if they can get enough people on SI to join the feeding frenzy, then other investors or programs may perceive a "trend" and do the same, creating further downward pressure, etc. Then when everything settles down, they buy your stock on the cheap and their broker brings their accounts back into balance. You walk away empty handed and they walk away arranging your money neatly in their wallets and purses. As old Big Ears used to say, "It's that simple."

There's no way that this unethical behavior will ever be reigned in, I'm afraid. It's amazing what can be done under the guise of "free speech," etc. SI is not inclined nor equipped to police the threads to any degree. We're on our own. Just do me a favor. When someone the likes of Wexler cries "fraud," consider the source (and check out his track record, aka the doom index!), or when someone the likes of "calculated risk" cries "hype," consider the source, AND their motives.

Calculated indeed! Perhaps "Risk" is merely your last name, rather than a statement of investment style? Close to the mark again, eh Bill?
