I'll answer your question after you explain to me why people buy lottery tickets when any rational person knows that the game is stacked and the average player will never recover their purchase money. For many people, the market is psychology, not rationality. Warren Buffett is an exception -- were I a betting man I would bet he has never bought a lottery ticket in his life. People are buying hope, and the few well publicized lottery winners (Microsoft, Intel, both available CHEAP 15 or so years ago) get people drooling.
