I like to make the distinction between a protocol and an algorithm (the heart of modem technology).

A protocol is a common language; an algorithm is a professional writer.

How can you monopolize a language which you and I communicate?
You can definitely write a better essay if you are well-educated.

Now, I seriuosly challenge anyone who is seriuos about 56K to develop and patent the better implementation to get to
56K 99% of the time but to leave the protocol in the "inter-operable" domain.

BTW, I think I will buy some call options on USRX now. I will hit and run.
