Note on Benton: Companies usually announce replacements for high positions when an officer of the company leaves before accepting another position in another company. Since this did not happen, the position will NOT be replaced. I.E. the company is getting bought out. So I believe WHEN and WHO are the only remaining questions now.

The street will realize this tomorrow and we will see a build up in positive volume.

Here are my guesses in order of highest probability.
1) LU makes stock bid for WSTL to commence in October. Deal gets announced Aug 3 . Benton moves on because he knows he will have no job soon. No connection between NEC America and Westell.
2) Alcatel makes bid for Westell. The timing fits with announcement of DSC buyout. Alcatel won't jepordize not getting into the region with just DSC. Westell is that insurance policy for their multi-billion dollar investment. LU responds.
3) The third suitor is NEC America. Westell follows Benton. The deal gets announced on Aug 3. NEC Stock transaction involving American ADRs .
4) DMT contract already awarded, not to Westell but to Alcatel. Announcement soon. Benton at Westell gets performance-based compensation that now is not lucrative anymore. Ericsson then makes bid for Westell. LU responds.

Anymore adds to the list?
