JB -

IF retailing media artifacts remains profitable despite video/music/books on demand...

IF the internet doesn't eliminate middlemen altogether as producers achieve JIT delivery direct to consumers...

IF shopbots, agent technology and comparison shoppers don't make consumers impervious to "branding" and advertising by making shopping decisions solely on the basis of value...

IF the other players - B&N, Borders, Bertelsmann, Crown, not to mention MSFT, WMT, and the thousands of small niche players and buying clubs - leave 3% share for AMZN...

THEN in the year 2001 AMZN COULD have a plausible valuation of 200.

It's closing in on that fast - do you think it will tread air until then?

But don't worry - the consensus has formed that the internet stocks are not to be tied down by boring details such as earnings. In fact, companies that actually earn money are diverting their attention from the critical work of puffing their stock.

1000 or infinity by Friday!
