Ira, I am stuck with the Mac, trying to get unstuck. There is a dearth of software for Mac vs Pentium, all the hardware that goes with it cost 25 to 50 percent more, etc. My only problem is I have all these time consuming drawings of my gene probes in McDraw Pro that I don't want to redo in a different software. So I thought, go G3 and run Virtual PC like a friend of mine does and then I can migrate more slowly. He uses PC floppies, PC Zip disks, etc. on a Mac system running PC software under Windows 98, also PC software. Does fine. Your IMac idea might work instead, except it looks like a kid's machine. In any case, G3 is hot now, but in 3 months, the 400 Mhz PIIs will be below $1000, (can get full system now for $1400) and the Xeon processors will be commonplace. G3 will look like burnt toast. Sorry for the run-over visual metaphor.
