Hello John or Viewpoints
Winspear is a classic Canadian mining promotion. In this case the moose pasture has yielded a very promotable commodity, the 6/22 values are good, it is however, still a promotion. Many of you who know me know my take on the Friedland phenomenon, promotions work. Sure, promotions are not for a lot of people, there are stocks out there that purport to be "valid small businesses making money" for far less than Winspear (ie VI.A-ASE plug plug) but the risk reward ratio is less dramatic. Even when things appear to be OK in one of these "lower risk" (heheheheh) penny equities, they may not be. (ie QZR-TSE & MCY-ASE, questionable revenue booking I believe)
In Winspears case, caution is surely warranted, it is difficult for an experienced small Canadian investor to correctly transmit the proper attitude, an analogy may be suitable.
Winspear is a Three Stooges Film. Watch the film, don't take it too seriously. (most people trading) It may have greater value someday, it may not, it is however not ET or even Gone With the Wind, yet. I believe the addition of the Made in Angola story may have disturbed some, but maybe they didn't see the marquee when they came to the theater. Vancouver is of course, the world leader in salting and scamming, Bre-X (ASE) and Timbuktu (ASE) notwithstanding. Investing in small Canadian mining promotions is probably the highest risk/reward ratio around, caution is always advised. |
