Have you used a CD-R drive?

I have a Jaz/CD-R combo unit. It's great for archival work. I use it to backup critical data, and I keep both the Jaz copy and the CD-R copy. But for everyday backup of my work, the CD-R is just too slow. I use my Zip drives to painlessly backup my "active folder" once a day.
