Wizzie, Not a "dietz thing" at all. Go back and read the paragraph, I'll wait.......................ok, see? I was asking a question based on some assumptions and you will note that I noted the current PnF condition of the stock. However, with the BP for the semis at 22% and just reversing up from a double bottom support at 16%, it would appear that the sector has hit bottom and is rebounding. Coupled with the fundies for ALTR it would seem that ALTR may be bouncing off of the bottom as well. So going back to my question, since the semis seem to have bottomed, how do you select a stock (based on PnF) when all of the charts in the sector look ugly? The PnF answer may be "you don't, you wait for a PnF buy signal on a specific stock to confirm the direction before buying" or it may be "once you have a buy signal on the sector (through BP chart), use your FA to select a stock". I don't know the answer, but I like an answer that gets me into a stock as close to the bottom as possible.

Oh, and the "dietz thing" is for the history books. DietzCorp has just gone into production on their first product (first release in March). The CFO (that would be Lisa) has indicated to marketing (that would be me) that riskier ventures should be avoided when possible so as to maximize shareholder value.
(yes, I am bragging).
