I don't know if you are purposefully trying to be dense or what, Dwight, but I have explained several times that the tribe who lived in San Francisco no longer exists here, and that I own no land, so I could not give it back even if I could find its rightful owners. I think you should also remember that the Indian (and aboriginal) concept of land is that it belongs to everyone. They did not believe in private ownership of land, at all.
I do not accept Manifest Destiny as "water under the bridge", and have said so repeatedly, listing all the ways in which I do contribute to Indian causes. In fact, I hope all the Indians go to law school so that they can be much stronger, and reach fairer agreements with the American government. I would also like to pay more taxes so that the Indian reservations can be better and healthier places. Obviously America has been taken over thoroughly by European culture, and it would be impossible to give back the Indian lands that were seized, but the Indians deserve much more compensation than we have provided for the genocide they have endured.
Not only does Manifest Destiny give America very negative karma, but in my opinion it is a blight on the real religious values, also, and tarnishes Christianity. I find it particularly curious that you would continually state that I accept Manifest Destiny when I have said it is a reason I would like to leave America. I know you are quite bright, but you are lacking any logic in this argument. |
