*Site Crash*

Strictly speaking, it's not a JavaScript problem. The ad window is using "style sheet" technology, and there are some variable values passed in the Geocities code without declaring the attributes. Thus, the browser has some "extra" numbers floating around in the script and can't figure out what they're for. Crash.

Solution (short-term user fix): Do not turn off JavaScript. JavaScript is quite stable and crash-proof (and for many who are unaware, no it's not Java). More importantly, JavaScript is used on a majority of sites these days and you will be missing out on some great web funtionality just because somebody at GeoCities doesn't have it entirely together.

I hate seeing JavaScript get an undeserved bad rap.

Instead: turn off style-sheets. These are relatively new, and not used as predominantly as JavaScript. You won't be missing much at this point in time. So far it seems like Navigator is having the most problems. Style sheets can be turned off here:

magneticdiary.com

IE seems to have mixed results. For those who are having trouble, turn off style sheets here:

magneticdiary.com

*Note: the above is for NN4 and IE4. I didn't test "version 3" browsers and style sheets won't really apply here. If you're lucky, the version 3 browser may just ignore it. If you are having the same problem with a version 3 (you really shouldn't be using one in July of 1998), then the only recourse is to kill JavaScript, I suppose.
