3. Regarding your examples of mass murder. Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden, Hamburg (you left out Tokyo) were all dreadful events. War is Hell. I take issue with you blaming 'the government' full square. I'm pretty sure that the Dresden and Hamburg fire bombings were the responsibility of the Royal Air Force. Hardly a bastion of Yankee Imperialism. Your linking of Waco to WWII bombing raids is crass.

However, the Federal assault on the Branch Davidian sect does raise interesting points.

First, a correction. I was under the impression that the deaths were caused by the torching of the buildings by sect members.

Secondly, there was a lengthy standoff between the sect and Federal Agents before the tragedy unfolded. What do you think would have happened say, in China, Libya, Iraq etc under similar circumstances?
