"Some others must have thought so, as CCSC ranged from 41 and change all the way to 46 today."

I was one of those, picking a little up @42. My broker claims to have a proprietary news source, and there was nothing on it (or TLAB) to account for CCSC swooning 10+%. At that point the volume was only around 250,000 shares -- well above the daily average, but not enough to suggest there was something big in the wind that hadn't been publicly released just yet. What's wrong with a little fun every now and then anyway? Of course, I'm looking forward to being a TLAB shareholder (at a nice discount) in the not too distant future. So far, so good. But it does seem too nifty to be true...

Can anyone think of any kind of a deal even remotely similar to this one which has been tossed out by the DoJ recently? I take the rash of buy-outs and mergers lately as a sign that the regulators under the current administration have been (and will continue to be) fairly lax and laissez faire.

If the deal falls through, are there other possible suitors besides TLAB? How big a negative would it be for TLAB if another company ended up with CCSC?

P.S. -- Thanks for the explanation, Wade. It's good every now and then to be reminded there's still stuff one doesn't know.
