Thank you for your comments on competing technologies Edsam. Here's what makes me nervous as a TVL shareholder based on what you're saying: it appears that Soundview's approach was the first novel idea patented which the United States FCC adopted. It doesn't matter what came after their patent. What appears to be novel about Soundview's approach is the use of the closed caption signal to transmit the ratings system and the blocking system which follows. The other patent you mention appears to be very similar to what others claim V-gis does, namely using a software package to download ratings information. If anything, it appears that the Sony patent may cause problems for TVL, but not Soundview.

I came to this conclusion also because I also tried to order the V-gis product over the internet and was told that they couldn't ship any product. When I asked the company about this, I got no answer. Upon further review, I tried contacting sources thoughout the industry, including Soundview, General Intruments, PG and Ingram. It appears that V-gis can't be shipped because their are licensing requirements which must be addressed first. This concerns me big time. I'm not sure that the management of TVL knows what they are doing. They apparantly know how to tell everyone, though, their expected revenue (220M). As I stated before, that makes me very very nervous. Management should NEVER create such expectations. I'm also concerned about the selling which Tim Collings did in the spring which Doug posted. HELP!!!
