<<Tsk tsk. Move evidence WORA is a scam.>>

A scam?? Any chance I get to do a project in Java, I do it. I can run the same code on Windows and several flavors of UNIX without any code changes. Not only does your knowledge transfer among platforms, but development times are usually much shorter. There were some anomalies with the AWT that you had to be careful of, but JFC seems to be curing that problem. Java is also a very "clean" programming language. All those nasty bugs you can program yourself into with C++ just aren't possible with Java. The risk of delays is greatly reduced.

My only complaint is that browser support for Java is not yet too good. That's really not surprising considering it competes with half of the web browser developers (that would be the Microsoft half).

Fortunately, the vast majority of software projects don't require that your software actually run inside a web browser.
