1) anybody who follows geac closely knows that the third qtr is always their big one. december falls in their 3rd qtr, and they get a lot of "year end", "spend the budget" sales in that qtr. so this was expected.

i was impressed that revenues were up 20% from the same qtr last year with no major acquisitions during the year. a knock on geac has been that all it's growth has come from acquisitions, but it now appears that its generating some internal growth.

2) geac's comments raised a few flags - nothing is ever simple. i can't confirm or deny the 14% and 31% tax rates you suggested, but i'm going to look into it! i doubt that tax benefits added $.10 to eps!

i have a couple of questions for you.

how do you feel about geac's cash balance's and the prospects for future acquisitions?

are you long geac?
