(PR NEWSWIRE) DJ: Media Entertainment Becomes Internet Media Corporation DJ: Media Entertainment Becomes Internet Media Corporation BATON ROUGE, La., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Media Entertainment, Inc. (OTC-Bulletin Board: MEME) announced today that it has changed its name to INTERNET MEDIA CORPORATION (IMCOR). The name change was made in conjunction with IMCOR's decision to focus on proprietary Wireless Internet System. IMCOR's wireless system operates within a broadcast signal in the 900 or 2400 MHZ band using two-way modems (internal or external) outfitted with an antenna. As such, MEI's system has no reliance on hard wire to transfer data, making the local telephone company no longer necessary for Internet access. "Our new name more clearly identifies our line of business, and we've been quite pleased with the reaction to the new name," said David Loflin, IMCOR's President. The name change also reflects IMCOR's decision to delay indefinitely the development of its wireless cable business, due to that industry's current downturn. Mr. Loflin indicated that IMCOR would maintain its wireless cable channels in expectation of a time soon after the turn of the century when IMCOR believes the FCC will either de-regulate entirely, or permit two-way communications on, wireless cable spectra. He added that these wireless cable channels should be valuable at that time, because IMCOR's Wireless Internet System can be operated on the wireless cable channels. /CONTACT: Jim Kaufman of H+N Partners, 805-493-9273, for Internet Media Corporation/ 06:00 EDT *** end of story *** |
