Surfin,
I noticed you were curious about the Quote.com java applets and real time service.
I recently subscribed to quote.com's new service, q-charts. It costs a little over 100 bucks per month plus exchange fees, and is cancellable anytime (no refund for current month. I only pay for the options real time quotes since I play oex options, and all their indexes are free real time. NYSE and NAZ exchange fees are under 10 bucks a month each, CBOT and CME are around 60/month each. The Q-charts applet is based on the regular (free) applet but it's much more flexible - you can put up a number of charts at the same time, with and without moving averages, see real time sales, I can watch the movement on a number of puts and calls at once , AND MOST IMPORTANTLY all on one screen. All in all, I'm quite happy with it. I realize that their data may not be all that clean, but for under 120 a month, I can get a lot of the info for a reasonable price without a huge capital outlay for a box and real time data which isnt always infallible anyway.
OT I've been a non-paying lurker forever and I've enjoyed and learned a lot from this thread. You all are a great bunch!
Good trading,
