Segate Software will go for $8-12 a share. Seagate software will be spun off in late 1998. It will probably be a hit with the IPO marketeers and climb from day one. We think it's worth $12-15 a share as is. I should know, since I work at one of the underwriter's sub-contractors' offices here in Virginia.

I can't (obviously) tell you who the underwriter is for the deal, but you would have to be a moron not to know who does the lion's share of Seagate's investment banking business.

Also, look for a nice quarterly announcement on the 14th of July. It will heavily promote Seagate Software as a rapidly-growing, very lucrative business. They have been shopping this jewel for a half a year in the investment banking circles and finally have a deal the shareholders will love.

Seagate Software by itself is worth almost 50% as much in the open market as Wall Street is valuing the whole company for right now.

PS - you will love the Q number. Well above whisper, I hear.
