Paul,

One question are you still holding any AMD stock? As you know I purchased AMD just before you in Aug of 96. I sold 1/2 at 38 and am still sitting on the rest since I consider it found money. I ask this question since AMD is now approaching those lows again and if it reaches those lows I will be buying again. AMD is sure to get a very large pop from the hype associated with the K7 and it looks like from all rumors (Just rumors granted) that the K7 will be out on time and be a winner of a chip. AMD needs the Asian market to recover and a stabilization of cpu ASP's to turn a profit going forward. We will see large volumes of K6-2, and K6 chips selling at next few quarters but if ASP's this low its going to be very tough for AMD unless they can turn around the non-mpu business. Turning those sectors around should happen since these have been AMD's strengths in the past. IMHO the next real kick in the stock price should come on speculation of the k7. Now that AMD has IBM, Compaq, HP and a slew of other pc oems on board once the K7 speculation starts it could very easily lead AMD to new highs. Rumors again have AMD releasing the K7 in the 4th Q. So now just might be the time to load up again on AMD.

Robert
