Fusion Test Platform Will Be Demonstrated at SEMICON West 98
Westwood, Mass., July 8, 1998 -- LTX Corporation (Nasdaq/LTXX), a leading supplier of semiconductor test equipment, announces it will be exhibiting the first FusionTM HF system-on-a-chip tester this week at SEMICON West 98. The demonstration will showcase Fusion's 500MHz non-muxed, differential I/O digital channels, as part of its industry-leading test capability for system-on-a-chip devices. Fusion is powered by enVision++TM, an innovative new programming environment that provides for reusable, object-oriented test development. Demonstrations of the Fusion HF system will take place at Booth #11402 during the SEMICON West 98 Test, Assembly & Packaging trade show. The trade show runs from July 15th through 17th at the San Jose Convention Center, in San Jose, Calif.
"Exhibiting Fusion at SEMICON West is a significant milestone for LTX," said Roger Blethen, president and CEO of LTX. "It solidifies Fusion's position as the only test system on the market capable of testing systems-on-a-chip, and it brings our customers' IC leadership goals one step closer to reality. In addition, Fusion's single platform approach will permit our customers to eliminate test overcapacity in their manufacturing operations. The market is already acknowledging this advantage ( our Fusion test technology has been selected by leading semiconductor manufacturers such as National Semiconductor, ASE, Philips Semiconductors, Hitachi, and Hyundai, and we have received orders for more than 20 systems."
At SEMICON West, LTX will use a Fusion HF to test National Semiconductor's Video/Graphics controller chip, which will soon be incorporated in the company's recently announced PC-on-a-chip technology. The tests will also demonstrate Fusion's VX250 digital subsystem, HiPer IITM pin electronics and the new DSP source and measure module, the SMS250.
The Fusion HF test head can be configured with up to 1024 digital pins that can include per-pin Algorithmic Pattern Generation (APG) capability for embedded memory testing. The test head also supports a wide range of mixed signal instruments such as RF, smart power, precise time measurement, powerful DSP-based synthesizers and digitizers for high-speed and high-resolution embedded converters, and much more.
The Fusion platform is supported by the enVision++ operating system, which continues LTX's commitment to compatibility by running applications previously developed for either LTX's Delta or Synchro series testers. enVision++ is also an enabling technology for creating and managing Test Intellectual Property (TestIP), software modules that encapsulate test expertise into a library of test methods for use in multiple applications. LTX Corporation is the only semiconductor test equipment company to offer a "one test-platform, zero compromises" solution for testing the full spectrum of system-on-a-chip, mixed-signal, digital and analog integrated circuits. Headquartered in Westwood, Mass., the company has development and manufacturing facilities in Westwood and San Jose, Calif., as well as sales and service facilities throughout North America, Europe and the Pacific Rim. LTX is traded on the NASDAQ National Market under the symbol "LTXX." Further information on LTX can be obtained by calling 1-888-INFOLTX (or 888 463-6589). |
