The only thing I know about the integrated DVD chip is that it is not quite "all in one" -- the Cirrus website talks about interfacing with a third-party micro-controller (the announcement made it sound as if the micro-controller would be somehow taken over by PRML technology). The hard disk product does seems to integrate microcontroller-type functionality, so one would expect Cirrus to come up with a true "all-in-one" (except for MPEG2) DVD solution later, although I do not doubt that the DVD product is quite useful as it is.
