No they do not seem to be doing well. These kids are primarily in female headed households- and the kids tend to take advantage of the fact that their moms are overworked. They don't have the kind of limits or supervision that my kids have. They also, in general, don't seem to have the same respect for adults that my kids have. My guess is that it is a lot harder to be the disciplinarian when there is only one of you- with two parents discipline can be shared and neither parent feels like the heavy.

In my daughter's school the children in blended families, that were being shuttled between two households seemed to have a terrible time in school. Homework got lost, no one seemed to be on top of what the child was doing- now boys seemed to have the most trouble, but then they have a harder time in school (at least they have a noticeably harder time) because of their greater activity levels, and tendency to act out physically. I am sure there are many girls as troubled as the boys but they tend to be troubled quietly.
