Interesting concept. At this time I can't see why they would want to do it as both companies are doing fine. Dell's concept at this time does not require retail sales as they are direct sales oriented. But who knows. If the Gateway stores are successful, (and as I wrote the previous post CNBC reported that they were very happy with them and were planning opening many more,) and if the field gets narrower and more competitive, perhaps a merger would be in the offing. Both are quality companies.
