But as I said Mark, I don't think AMZN has the potential to make as great an impact on the internet as Yahoo. Amazon can partner up with other retailers, but that only goes so far. I don't go to Amazon daily (only been twice, and never again, now that Books.com will beat their prices), but I do use Yahoo, almost daily, to find stuff.

Yahoo is the most widely used search engine and a place where most people go to navigate the net. As such it can create content, direct searchers to certain locations, or a bunch of stuff I have never thought of. It can really shape the way the internet is used. If they do it right, they can make the internet their own, just as AOL has dominated the non-internet bulletin board system. Amazon cannot do that with its current business plan. Amazon is not an "internet" company, but somehow got lumped in with the others. It may ride for a while with them, but will eventually decouple, if it has not already.

Again, enjoy your Yahoo ride, should be fun.
