I did do my sums and you are wrong.

According to SAP's 1995 Annual Report (http://www.sap.com/discsap/annual/english.htm) R/3 sales grew 69% to 1.7Bn DM (or about $1.09Bn at an exchange rate of $1 = 1.56DM). Total revenues were $2.7Bn DM in 1995. Oracle's run rate for Application sales was around $450M, but last quarters sales were 4% below a year ago. SAP claim that independant studies give them 72% of the client/server software market.

On that basis I would suggest that your statement below is misguided

"Get real dude, yes SAP is big, but in the Main-frame non-relational market.
Oracle owns the unix/open systems end of financials/manufacturing, SAP is not even close in this arena..."
