What screwed this whole thing up is that MIDL changed the rules AFTER the fact re: div/split which has caused massive confusion. A split shouldn't be this hard. But we are dealing with MIDL.......

Nope what screwed this up is Dan Fisher changing his mind not Midland ... I do not think we would have an x date if Mark or rather MIDLAND had not discovered what was going on. NOR would we have the Liquidating Trust for the shareholders either nor an 8K nor a new TA nor 10Ks & 10Qs getting done either NOR negotiations for another acquistion.

If not for Midland we would have what the little boy shot at ... NOTHING

As far as the SOR ... typically the SOR and the xdate are one in the same with the payable date 3 days later but just in case their is a mess up is why the NASD shows different dates on the split. The SOR is May 29,1998 as per the news release which was assigned by Midland and the x date is July 7,1998 which was assigned by NASD and from what I can find out the company elects the pay date.

Wayne Duke and Mark Pierce did not create this mess a proposed wholly owned subsidary did and the management of that proposed subsidary before the mess was discovered which caused Midland to step back in and rescind the acquistion.

I admit it is not normal but Dan doing what he did is not normal either and no matter how you want to blame Midland it is not Midland it was Dan Fisher. Midland is doing what it has to do to straigthen out the mess. So focus blame on who you want but Dan is to blame not Midland. Midland and its shareholders are the victims.
