Jane,

Please don't feel any pressure with regards to bible study (or religious studies as the case may be). An aspect of David that you considered to have been overlooked is an excellent start.

Oh, and in response to why any one who isn't "born again" would hang out with you guys and gals on the thread, let me tell you why I do it. I was raised in a Western culture. Western culture is heavily influenced by the Judeo-Christian religion (and... yes... even a bit of Islam... but the influence is more from Muslims rather than the religion itself). Western culture is heavily influenced also by the Greeks; and, in many ways the influence comes by way of Christianity which is heavily influenced by the Greeks. Yes... there's even a hint of Eastern cultural influence in Western culture (perhaps even in Christianity). No culture is an island - but I've gone off on a tangent. Sorry...

I hang out here to learn more about thoughts of modern, common Christians. It's also a great jumping off point for studying the Bible and Christian theology. Why? Because I'm interested in the culture in which I live. It's my hobby.

Greg
