It has now been about six weeks since I joined Unitec to handle investor relations. Working with John Smyth has been an incredible learning experience for me. I understand how the markets work, and I have a background in business management, but learning about SCADA technology has been exciting to say the least.
I can tell you that John is a strong person to have at the helm of Unitec. Not only does he have a solid management style, but for the President and CEO of a company to have such an deeply rooted understanding of the nuts and bolts of the company's products and services is truly and asset that connot be quantified.

The production areas of the company's facility seemed empty today when I arrived at work following the shipment of Phase I of the EMEC project. The boxes that had filled the workspace and lined the walls are now on their merry way to Chile. What remained were the tables that only last week had signage that read "EMEC Phase I" and now have new signage that reads "EMEC Phase II". The components for this second of seven phases are being prepared for assembly, an as we prepare to start production, the mood of the employees is very good. There is truly a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment.

For the past several weeks, I have been reading as much as I can about the path Unitec has taken since going public in December 1993. It seems to me that the stock and company have been going in different directions. The stock has been on a decline, while the Company continues to move in the right direction for continued growth. As Unitec closes in on positive earnings, enters in more contracts (big and small) and continues to improve its already technologically superior products, I see an exciting story unfolding.
In this light, I will be making presentations to brokerage firms (commencing soon) to attempt to bring a postitive and continual stream of information to the people who can best disseminate Unitec's story to the investing public. Further to this, I will be preparing an Investor Relations package for potential investors that provides information on what Unitec is doing, the in-roads it is making into the Water, Electricity and Oil & Gas industries and it strong financial future.
I do not believe in promoting the stock. I believe in promoting the Company, and the stock price will follow.
We are in a declining market. A period of consolidation. As capital consolidates, investors will seek quality opportunities. I believe that investors will look at Unitec. I will do what I can to ensure that they find us and are provided the necessary information to make their decision to invest in Unitec.

I am thrilled to be part of the Unitec team! I have been reading the postings to our SI thread, and have learned a lot about the people who post here. It seems that there are a lot of good supporters here. I felt that it was time to introduce myself, and I look forward to replying to messages (both private and public) to answer questions, concerns, criticisms and, of course, accept the occasional 'pat-on-the-back'.
