Toma, I would strongly defend Terry Turner as no shyster. He has been upfront in everything he puts his name to. IMO, we shareholders in GE are fortunate to have the only lawyer licensed to practice in both countries as the president of this company. He has encountered huge challenges since taking the position. He inherited the SEC problem from day one on the job. I know how difficult it is to make a go of it in Latin America. I started from scratch in Mexico in 1984 before selling my business there in 1994. I learned a lot of hard lessons along the way. The way of doing business, the values, the facades, the socialization process, the corruption and above all, the contacts, are extremely difficult to understand and/or maintain. IMO, as shareholders, we would not want to lose him as president of this company. Indeed, we are fortunate to have him.
PS: Jim, still have the Mexico City condo and we have a family condo in Puerto Vallarta. Planning to sell the Mexico City condo. |
