David, come on now, you know thinking and reason have nothing to do with the market. A smart thinking investor short term is an oxymoron,it takes an ability to tap into human emotion and greed. It isn't bright to think rationally about manias and to put fundamental value on any of these stocks. Fundamentals and rational thinking go out the window on the upside in manias(so do the shorts),the only time fundamentals come into play is on the downside to set a bottom. No reason to call anyone dumb or smart about investing, intuitive, lucky, emtotionally instinctive would be more appropriate. Come to think of it, I just described my girlfriend and most women. No wonder women outperform men by a wide margin when it comes to investing.
