Mark NOTWisener, a lot of commodity stocks lose lots of money for years and their stock prices are not all zero..the best ex are the gold stocks...metals ...etc.. they have buoyant prices because the mkt realizes that down the road when prices recover the co will be profitable..The timing considerations vary per industry and the management of the co in part has to be taken into account..ie ABX will trade at a premium to almost al lthe other golds all things being equal during downturns...
