This is not too far out of line with what Proteon had projected 3 quarters ago and is probably discounted in the current price. No one expects them to go into the black at this point - what is important is for them to establish a steady upward trend with some degree of visibility - the light at the end of the tunnel. In that respect, I think most of the current indications are quite positive.

On another note, see biz.yahoo.com

I must confess that I am not fluent in all this proprietary acronym mumbo-jumbo, but what I see as encouraging in this is that they are positioning themselves to profit from the fact that this industry is rapidly evolving with a constant influx of new products and formats. By supplying a framework that is modular and open they are not trying to compete with every new product but rather promoting the blending of the various technologies ( Remember the gold rushes - the guys that made money were not the miners but the guys that sold the shovels ) In an industry that is evolving as fast as this one is, no one is going to want to trash their whole system just to get the latest and greatest.

Anyway, I think they are making the right moves in terms of business strategy.
