Another Networked BIO-ID Sale !

This is another example of Identix's ability to design and install large networks of BIO-ID scanners. This is the mid to upper end of the BIO-ID scanner food chain that IDX is targeting which requires networking software expertise to coordinate and monitor the many scanners. These customers will be the early adopters of biometric technology and provide the best opportunity for IDX to leverage the knowledge it has gain from its large installed base of BIO-ID networks.

The other players have only been marginally successful in this area. Most of the new players have no installed base. The newcomers get all the press by stating their grand plans and partnerships. IDX gets no respect when they announce actual sales.

It will be interesting to see how many On/Off switches are sold this year. I am going to New York in September. I plan to visit the Biometric Store, if it is still open, to test all the scanners they have for sale. I hope one of our F3 products is available.

The $100 personal PC single finger scanner market (or "On/Off Switch" market as David calls it) will be brutal. You have to sell hundreds of thousands of $100 scanners to make money. You will also need advertising and economies of scale.
