michael, the IS director cannot tell all the vp's to put their massive re-eng projects on hold and wait for pc prices to drop more...
they would laugh him out of the meeting.
on a % basis the prcie of pc's is nil compared to the other expenditures happening.
go get some system mags. they will tell you what's happening.
remember cpq's 10q....????

so they will not be over paying when you considerer the money they save when the systems go in. besides that if an IS director said that he should get his resume upgraded first.. if I was a VP i would tell that director to hit the road.

technology is not implemented to say you implemented technology. the IS group is their to enable depts to exceed achievement of their goals....increase the quality of processes while drastically reducing the cost and cycle times
