Why no talk about the competition?

I am in the process of building a 900+ square foot deck, and I've been looking extensively at decking materials. I finally narrowed it down to TREX and ChoiceDek, and went with the TREX because they have it in COLORS.

I called ChoiceDek because I actually liked it better due to the rough surface texture, but I hate the way it weathers to an ugly barnwood look. I asked if they planned to color it and they said no. I think that's a big mistake.

TREX comes in natural and 3 other colors, that are permanent. You never have to stain the deck, and they retain the original color. I just bought 2100 linear feet of TREX. Problem is, TREX is not a public company so I can't buy the stock. ;-(

AERT seems to be pretty busy making ChoiceDek, but it also appears to be readily available around here (Colorado). I think TREX is a better product, and seems to be selling better.

I'll keep watching and may buy the stock anyway...seems like lots of deck builders and homeowners are tired of deck maintenance, so there may be enough demand for a few companies to prosper.
