Insook, the reunion was great except that the first morning after a long drive, one of my Uncles came knocking on my motel door at 6 AM. "I didn't know you slept in," he said. I kept the cuss words under my breath and the rest of the reunion was great after that. It was fun to meet some cousins I'd never seen and some babies I'd never even heard about. But I recognized most of them even on the street before we even knew they were part of the group. Big families are nice. I have 9 aunts and uncles on the Burke side and 8 on my mother's side, the Simpsons. Both reunions were loaded with people, at least those who could make bail. <G> That is the real joke, because the Burke side is really super religious, for the most part, and they consider me a black sheep because I deal in the root of all evil.
I think Amoco is a good co. and a fairly cheap stock. It even pays a relatively good dividend, which is unheard of in this market. I have a hard time getting excited about them or any really big oil co., but AN is a good long term investment, IMHO.
Don't let the neighbor kid get too excited. The first stock I ever bought in 1966 was Medtronic. A triple in about 6 months, I thought I was a genius. Then reality came knocking on the door. Medtronic was still a great idea, but I was a one-trick pony until I learned more about the market. My other tricks had names like Ampex and Varian and they didn't perform as well as MDT. So much for my dreams of easy money. <G>
