OXBOW EXPLORATION INC. CHANGES NAME TO VOLTERRA RESOURCES INC.
CALGARY, July 9 /CNW/ - OXBOW EXPLORATION INC. announced that
shareholders approved a change in the name of the Company to VOLTERRA
RESOURCES INC. on June 19, 1998.
The common shares of VOLTERRA RESOURCES INC. will be posted for trading
on the Toronto Stock Exchange at the commencement of trading on Friday, July
10, 1998 under the symbol ''VOL''.
Geoff Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer of Volterra,
announced record production in June of approximately 2,900 BOE/D, of which
over 40% was natural gas. Mr. Williams stated, ''Volterra is on target to
more than double its 1997 production in 1998. It is fortunate that much of the
additional production is natural gas given the current commodity price
environment.''
VOLTERRA RESOURCES INC. is a full cycle exploration and development oil
and gas company located in Calgary. Its operations extend throughout the
Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
