<<Earnings per share quadruples from prior year
Toronto, Canada - July 9, 1998 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY) the world leader in 3D graphics/video acceleration
and multimedia solutions, today announced financial results for the company's third quarter. Sales for the nine months ended
May 31, 1998 were $835.7 million, an increase of 85% from $450.6 million for the same period last year. Earnings for the
nine months rose 239% to $122.4 million or 58 cents per share compared with $36.0 million or 18 cents per share for the
same period last year. All per share amounts are expressed on a fully diluted basis.
For the third quarter, sales increased 112% to $286.8 million and earnings were 20 cents per share, compared with $135.1
million and 5 cents per share for the corresponding quarter of 1997. >>

<<Also during the quarter ATI announced its reference design for its Windows CE-powered set-top box. Called the
Set-Top-Wonder CE, the design provides a platform from which PC, consumer electronics and cable OEMs can combine
key entertainment functions into a low-cost, but high-performance set-top box. With more functions and at a lower price than
other CE devices, the Set-Top-Wonder CE reference design is the first set-top design to integrate DVD and MPEG-2
playback, 3D gaming, web browsing and intelligent TV, all into a single device.>> |
