a buyout can only happen when company proves its product is successful or has potential to become success.
MUSE was successful but that was the time without Viagara. Now MUSE must prove it has potential to become success konwing the existence of Viagara, which turns out to be more difficult, though I personally believe MUSE will not die but not under the management of such a team.
another thought: if there is buyout there or in talk, I believe Leland would have been constrained by it and would not say anything out. Now since he spoke out, i believe there is no and will not be no buyout in near future. Probably, below 20, there will be no serious buyer there at all. but at 20, probably most of you guys here will have already gone so the buyout really has nothing to do with you guys.
Conclusion, forget buyout ! Vivus needs to seek a better CEO but not a buyer. if they spend money on looking for a buyer right now, that's just another stupid decison made by such a stupid team. it can only prove this company is hopeless. believe me, i am not a short, instead, i still have a small long position on this dog, as Dr.Bond does.
