Warren Buffet's buy and hold policy is excellent. For companies that are clear leaders in their field and will very likely remain so. There is no reason to think that Amazon. com will remain so. There is every reason to believe that Barnes and Nobles and/or Boarders will be the new leader.
In addition it seems to me that people love to browse in bookstores and having a real store to go to before buying on line is urgent. Otherwise why have so many bookstores now decided to include coffee counters and chairs, if the owners really believe people just come, buy and leave?
