What did the MACD say when XCIT was trending down about a week and a half ago? The whole sector appeared to be selling off but then XCIT announced a stock split and everything took off again.

XCIT went as low as $76 at close but then ran up to $107 in the ensuing days. Just curious about how the MACD looked prior to the split announcement and immediately afterwards.

I guess my question is, does the MACD turn on a dime given that a stock has positive news or does it generally trend in one direction?

Regards,
Andes
