Comments about Small Molecule G-CSF Mimic News Article:

Very, very big market *IF* it leads "to an oral therapy to prevent infections that frequently follow chemotherapy." That's a billion dollar drug if it ever gets approved. That's "B" as in *BILLION*.

Plus, aren't there other uses for such a drug? Aids comes to mind, since one of the big obstacles is low white blood cell count. What about organ transplant operations? Usually you want a low count, but can the info be used to limit production of white blood cells? The possibilities seem pretty big!

Problem: The research was conducted under a collaborative research agreement with SmithKline Beecham. Which means.......??????? What would Ligand get if a drug goes to market??? What if other similar mimics are discovered?
