Ian: I checked out all your articles and sites and ended up at Sprint here;
sprint.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- With Sprint ION, customers will ultimately be able to do more of what they want to do with an entirely new, advanced set of services, including: Multiple, simultaneous telephone connections over a single existing connection with phone calls, faxes and Internet sessions to take place at the same time, with no waiting and no busy signals. Every line will provide total communication (local and long distance), and will come fully loaded with convenient calling features, like call waiting, caller ID and call forwarding. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This paragraph makes me think the IIA-Bellcore relationship does not involve Sprint's ION proposal because ION permits simultaneous phone and internet use. As I see it if you are on the internet and a phone call comes in you just stay on the internet and answer the phone, all on the same line. There is no need for ICM, as I see it, with ION. However there are plenty of non ION customers out there who will still need ICM. And there are the as yet unannounced other features which maybe Sprint will need, who knows.
Cheers,
