Here is a Wall Street Journal report on the resignation of Ashton. interactive2.wsj.com Notice the last paragraph: "Novell has struggled with weak earnings and sales since the WordPerfect disaster, partly because of increasing competition in its core network operating-system business from Microsoft's Windows NT operating system....
